NaMo vs MMS Independence Day Speech

Political Baba is one of the young, well educated Indians who is so fervently backing Mr. Modi. They are the hope of a rising India! Namaste. . .

You would have read a lot on this.

NaMo dared MMS for an Independence Day Speech contest. I couldn’t watch them was busy shifting. Saw a survey by HT which said 95% respondents liked NaMo’s speech. No surprise. MMS is no match for charismatic NaMo. MMS is not a political leader. You don’t get confidence by seeing him speak. People of India didn’t chose him to become PM. He was chosen by Madam. His only qualification, he was a non political person and no threat to family. NaMo is a mass leader. MMS lost the only election he fought from Delhi. NaMo spoke in extempore style. MMS read from a piece of paper. Anytime during the speech he could just have dozed off, audience came to see jhankis and armed forces might. Others got free passes and hence were there. Babus had to be there, no choice.

People questioned NaMo’s…

Billy Graham’s 95th Birthday

GrahamParty1

On  November 7, 1918 Billy Graham was born.  Last Wednesday he had his 95th birthday where he gave the world a present of his last sermon. It  was not the traditional football stadium presentation of the Gospel, but a video, showing young people whose lives were spiraling downward, and  the hope  and  change after they understand  and follow Christ.

This was a lovely last public presentation of a man who has preached to 215  million, more than any one else reaching 185 countries. This does not include his  written word or radio broadcasts.  He became a “Christian Superstar” when he met with William Hurst during his  early meetings in Los Angeles . He successfully used the  technology of television and radio allowing him to access millions of people around the world. He retired from public ministry in 2005, the year his wife of 60 years, Ruth died.

Billy Graham stands head and shoulders above many  other famous televangelists who have “slipped,” and  stolen money from the faithful, procured prostitutes, built mega-churches, or become  political preachers. Billy Graham has prayed with and counseled 12 presidents of both political parties.  Mr. Graham’s integrity is without question. He was married to the same woman without any hint of scandal, put all his money into an audited fund and drew only a moderate salary, never got into politics or built a huge church. His legacy is living the gospel of Christ and thus his transparent faith became real to many who watched him.  His last sermon is  a video called “My Hope for America,” which is well worth watching.

I will end with Billy Graham’s own words, a guiding light for us all:

“Our country is in great need of a spiritual awakening. There have been times that I have wept as I’ve seen how far people have wandered from God.”

US Agrees to Work with Mr. Modi

971595_10151529176746548_446055688_n

Those  who have been following my posts as the self-proclaimed American campaign manager for Mr. Modi, know that the US has denied him a visa to visit America. Yes, that decision  was made in 2005  based on the unproven allegations that he was complacent  during  the 20o2 riots, where sadly, many Muslims were killed after many Hindus were burned alive on a train.  Well, the US and Indian awkwardly  have  added a new step to the Modi Dance!

Last week, Mr. Modi addressed Indian Expats via video conference that was shown in  18 American cities. He addressed his views and work on global warming, solar power, malnutrition, and the building of the Unity Statue which will be in Gujarat and the tallest statue in the world.  He applauded the Indians living in America for their success and worldwide contributions, and he did not mention why he was not addressing them in person.

Now Mr. Modi’s star is rising in India, and he is likely to be elected Prime Minister after the parliamentary elections in 2014. He is heralded for the business friendly atmosphere in Gujarat, and is adored by the educated 20 year olds and their hope of entering the middle class. The Congress or opposition party has been in control for about 40 of the 60 years since independence from Great Britain.  The Congress party is beset with a  raucous list of corruption scandals.According to the Express Tribune newspaper, there is massive embezzlement, and 30% of politicians  in state and federal government are facing charges of serious crimes such as rape, murder or kidnapping. This is the legacy  of the Nehru/Gandhi family dynasty in the Congress Party.  The Indian Supreme Court cleared Mr. Modi  and 61 others this year from the charge of  complacency during the 2002 riots. There are Modi haters who don’t want to let go of these accusations. To me it is jealously because after all,  he has been elected Chief Minister overwhelmingly in his state Gujarat for four terms. There have been no further  riots in Gujarat since the horror of 2002 and Muslim Indians are coming there for employment.  Earlier  this year, Mr. Modi was invited to speak at Wharton  Business School in Philadelphia  and  then  uninvited because of liberal demonstrations  against him and no visa to travel here.  The European Union has dropped its boycott of Modi because the allegations against him have not been proved.

The US must be realizing that we  need the world’s largest Democracy and  now changed  its policy. The position now is that if Mr. Modi is elected Prime Minister of India next year, they can work  with him.  How condescending!   Mr. Modi’s popularity in his country and  the world is growing.  See this link that was reblogged on my blog yesterday:

http://www.csmonitor.com/World/Asia-South-Central/2013/0514/US-India-dance-awkwardly-around-the-man-who-might-be-India-s-next-leader

Goldman Sachs, one of the world’s elite investment banks, has “Modi- fied” their position on India and upgraded it to  market weight from under weight, purely on the prospect of Mr. Modi being elected to Prime Minister next year.   So now the US government has decided that they can work with Mr. Modi?  I wish I could ask Mr. Kerry and Mr. Obama how and why can they talk to Syria, Egypt, Iran , and China with the proven human rights violations in those countries but  are holding disproved events and accusations against Mr. Modi, a strong vibrant leader for democracy and freedom?

https://talesalongtheway.com/2013/11/10/goldman-bats-for-modi-govt-fumes/

In my opinion, it appears that India with still many challenges to overcome, is the emerging democracy in the world with hope and success  just over the horizon and the US is losing her way and is headed into decline.  I am waiting to see if the “brain drain” from India to the US will slow or stop if Mr. Modi is the new Prime Minister in 2014.  I am pretty confident it will!

Goldman bats for Modi, govt. fumes

This is a very exciting prediction of the work Mr. Modi could do for India if he is elected. politicalbaaba has an exciting blog on Indian politics and the importance of each citizen to exercise that gift we share of voting in a democracy. He is bright, well educated and a fine example of the “Young India” emerging from this largest democracy!

Goldman Sachs, amongst the top investment banks in the world, upgraded India’s rating to marketweight from underweight on the perception that BJP-led NDA “could prevail” in the 2014 elections. This was highlighted in its 18-page report, ‘Modi-fying our View: Raise India to Marketweight’.

It said that equity investors tend to view BJP as business-friendly, and its PM candidate Narendra Modi as an agent of change. Stock markets in India have been hovering around 21k mark despite poor fundamentals (currency depreciation, bloating subsidies, pressure of rating downgrade etc.) and some view that this is on account of opinion polls showing NDA victory. Gujarat has done really well in terms of industrialization; some of the larger business groups in India (Ambanis, Ruias, Adanis etc.) have their factories in Gujarat. The state was also able to enable Tata Motors shift its NaNo plant from West Bengal after significant land acquisition protests there…

Pope Kisses and Blesses Deformed Man

1383868540-0

On last Wednesday at the Papal audience in St. Peter’s Square, this man whose body is grossly  deformed by neurofibromatosis, approached the Pope.  A lesser man could have easily turned away in revulsion, but Pope Francis reached out to him , hugged him, kissed him and prayed with him.

From John Farrier  www.neatorama.com

I am  thinking that there are skeptics out there who might say that it was all for show, the cameras, positive publicity.  Each week the faithful visitors of Roma gather at a number of 50,000 to catch a glimpse of the pontiff.  I have been there many times, both in the Square and the building when the weather is  cold for Rome!  Well, it could be true, I guess, but none of the other Popes as fine a man as they may have been, had pictures of themselves with children hugging their legs and sitting in their chair or blessing a deformed man.  All that I have heard of him especially setting aside the opulent lifestyle of the Vatican and living among the faithful…..appears that he is a Godly , loving man.
