Yesterday, I saw this elephant race on the news. . . .yes in the United States. Everyone loves these giant animals! This video was filmed a couple of years ago as this year’s race hasn’t been posted yet. I really appreciated the quality of this video, the shots of the tourists, and Indians, the city, in Kerala, south India, the temple entrance, and of course the elephants. The excitement, anticipation, and joy in such simple pleasures. . . . . are all just so India!
Have to say that those skinny Indian men must have some sore bottoms today. We rode on sauntering elephants and it was very rough and uncomfortable and they are riding bareback!
This Is Incredible India!

Amazing!! I want to go there so badly! And I want to finish that book too but we are in the middle of consolidating two homes after having bought our final home (or should I say resting place LOL). Thank you for posting this video!

Check out this post on Kerala, the state in the elephant races. Jungle is a Hindi word and if you go there you will see authentic jungle. There is a backwater jungle boat ride through the canals. Awesome. There are some boats you can rent for a night and be in the boat with servants to cook etc for a day or two. I wish we could have done that. Check out my post and google it to learn more! Maybe even Youtube!
