Dog Food at the Food Pantry?

The last two Mondays volunteering at Concerns-U, the food pantry,  most of my work was dividing up some 50 pound bags of pet food into three pound bags.    You might be surprised as I was the first time learn  we were donated pet food. Well  people who need to food from a pantry to tide themselves over the month, often have and of course love their pets. Research explains that people who don’t have money for their own food will finally put their pets out of the house in hope that the dogs or cats and find some tidbits . The animals become feral and thus a burden  to the ASPCA or Humane Society.  It costs them less money to donate food for the shelters to hand out if clients indicate  a need.

So if you are so inclined to donate to a food pantry, don’t forget the four legged furry clients ~
