The first video is about a new discovery in this hard historical period of the United States. I am so glad that it is not being swept under the rug or history rewritten as the history of the Confederacy and the Civil War is being changed. You might ask, how can history be rewritten? To give you an example , my high school , Robert E. Lee in Stanton, Virginia is considering stripping the name of the great Conference general , also a proud Virginian, and changing the name to Stanton High School. No don’t get me wrong, there is lots of horrible history that I , too, wish had not happened. Slavery in any form is abhorrent. But there are families and culture in the South that people love even today. The southern culture had positive and negative aspects and we have to admit and own all of it not act as if it didn’t happen. We all have dual natures of good and bad, I certainly do and so do leaders and governments.
I have always wanted to visit Salem, Massachusetts and this stirs that desire. I am glad that even after 400 years, the witch trials are not being swept under the rug. It was another time in our history where a misjudgment of truth was carried out. My hope is that even after all these years, positive lessons for mankind and our culture can be learned by knowing this history.
The second video is the History Chanell’s hour show on the Salem Witch Trials for those who are interested and have time to watch. I found it very interesting and informative.
Oh! That’s a cruel practice in a dark period of the US history,
