The Truth about Elephant Artists. . . . . .

Elephants, as do lions, have two spies, African and Asian.  The males are the largest living land mammals who can also swim using their trunk as a snorkel to  breathe.  In fact there is a theory in Scotland that the Loch Ness Monster is actually an escaped circus elephant. . . . hmmmm  The females live in a matriarchal herd and are extremely intelligent carrying lifelong memories. They share human emotions of grief, joy, anger, and play as well  as  compassion  and altruism.  ( Wikipedia)

Well I have primary source knowledge  of the validity of part of this.  Back to India to  the elephants we rode in Jaipur.  David and I rode the youngest cow who was 17 years old.  She walked behind her mother who was 70 years old.  the ride was bumpy and uncomfortable, but all was well, until our handler got in a hurry and lead the young female past her mama.  When she got to a place where  she couldn’t see her, our elephant tried to turn, raised her trunk calling out and generally scaring  us to death.  The handler was a young, very slight, Indian man with a stick. . . no match for an angry  full grown female.  The handlers were calling to each other, figured it out and we went behind the mama again. Our elephant calmed down immediately.  She had learned as a baby to walk behind her mama and hold her tale.  Though she didn’t hold her tale anymore, she knew her place was behind, mama!  Pretty  exciting glimpse into the world of animals. . . .

So now to the painting elephants of Thailand. Please watch the video I found when I checked the net .  The elephant does paint the portraits and pretty darn well, with some help from her friend. . . .

Would you like to see this and would you buy an elephant painting?
