Sunshine Award and Inner Peace Award

sunshine-award-307x307                     inner-peace-award

My dear blogger friend Don Charisma had an 18 hour award day when  he passed along many encouraging awards and I was included!  I am very happy to accept these two awards that so meaningfully go together. I thank Don for his help, encouragement, humor, and continued great patience in answering questions. Because of his commitment to blogging and blogger friends and the difference of time where he lives, he has adjusted his sleeping or lack there of to be available during the time when most of his blogger friends are on line.  And he is always bright and cheery, certainly living up to his name!

Don is a man of many experiences and talents, engineering, computer software and hardware as well as his willingness to help with a gentle, accepting attitude.  He has a huge following and was one of OM’s (Opinionated Man’s aopinionatedman.com ) substitutes giving him exposure to thousands of bloggers.

Check out Don at doncharisma.org and see why “anything is possible with Charisma!”

I am accepting the Inner Peace Award so that it gives me the opportunity to encourage and inspire other bloggers.Of course, I also, appreciate the recognition of Don for nominating me.  I struggled at first as to whether to accept awards or not,but finally came to that conclusion.  I appreciate the love and want to pass it on to others.

Here are my list of nominees. Please feel free take one, the other, or both award.  You deserve it!

I am so happy. It is fun to write about so many different topics and hearing from lots of different people! Namasste. . . . Have you been to India or seen Arabic or Islamic architecture?

Both – I’ve been to India and I used to live in the Middle East and it’s stayed in my heart since day one in 1984 I reckon ❤️

We first went to Egypt in 1982. As much as I adore India…mostly the amazing people, I prefer the simple, elegant architecture of Islam. Have you been to Spain and Alhambra specifically? Google it for amazing place…not of worship but still wonderful.

No, not at the moment. My mum is on the verge of leaving Abu Dhabi after about 15 years so we want to get there for one last visit (minus the accommodation cost that is!!). How about you?

We were going to go through Dubai and stay over on t he way home from India, but heard that though they want visitors from America, they are no very warm to the guests. So we didn’t go . We had hoped to go to Istanbul and Berlin this summer. But the political situations in Turkey is iffy so we probably won’t go there. Architect says that he doesn’t want to be someone’s political statement. He wants to see contemporary architecture in Berlin, and I want to see the historical things. Both want to visit Dresden.

Your plans sounds great 😊 I’m very surprised to hear you say that about Dubai though, I’ve never known them make anyone anything but extremely welcome? What a shame that that is the perception.

Well , obviously we didn’t experience it first hand and it may not be true. Several of the students in our group recounted that . David was tired after the four months and didn’t want to do more exploring so it was a combination.. . . . he just wanted to get home!

That sounds fair!! If you consider going that way again, look at Abu Dhabi, it’s not as over done and you can still visit Dubai easily x

I would love to visit the world’s tallest building from the Tom Cruise film. Not really a fan of huge shopping centers. Would love the camel rides and dinner in the desert, though. It is amazing what those places have done, carving out such amazing places in the desert!

Absolutely, it’s stunning ☺️ I prefer the Dubai of my memories in the 80’s and the historical designs but I can still appreciate the amazing modern architecture.

Must have been amazing back then. We flew on Air Emeritus and it was such a lovely experience. They offered us an upgrade for a mere $900 dollars for a bedroom and shower. Too much for a professor and his wife. Food was great, seats more roomy than most planes and loved the fact that stewards were from all over the world so spoke lots of languages. Fare higher than most flights, but worth that extra money. Long trip from New York to Ahmedabad!

It is a lot like Mesa Writing Project that I was a part of in Arizona. It was only three weeks, 8 hours a day but everyone who was there loved words, thoughts, writing.. Other people who don’t ,get a glassy eyed look just hearing about writing. Bloggers are the same as a world wide writing project…I love every minute!
