The best explanation of the Middle East ever

As clear as mud. . . . . ..

Richard Bowker

My son has headed back to the Middle East for a year (at least), so I have more than the usual interest in what’s going on over there.  He sent me to this Buzzfeed image of a letter to the Financial Times, which finally made everything clear to me.

This makes me feel so much better about the whole thing.  What could possibly go wrong?

      • There is no way to accurately express the Higher Geo-Political situation in the middle east, without offending someone, or seeming to take a side. I go by my gut feeling on these issues. I think the entire world is fed up with the lies, and double standards. The U.S. is losing serious ground in terms of morality and world standing by aligning itself with something that walks like a NAZI, Talks Like A Nazi, and Behaves like a Nazi. The Zionist Leadership of Israel.

What made you come to that conclusion? The Palestinian situation?

      • The Palestinian Situation is in my opinion, One of the Greatest failures of the U.S. foreign policy. The Palestinian people have been treated with the same contempt and violence, and isolation that the Jews were treated with, in the So called holocaust. Gathered into Ghettos, Starved for supplies, and murdered at will. Today it is Palestine, who will it be tomorrow? This double standard, should be appalling to everyone. So.. Yes the Palestinian situation in particular , coupled with the obvious desire that Israel has to over run and dominate the entire region, is enough to cause me to raise my voice, and say” No More”

We have a friend who feels as you do and as passionately . I do believe there was a holocaust. And I think the Jews should be in a safe homeland. But I feel that the Palestinians should have a homeland , too. they should not be in camps. It is very complicated. I hope we can be friends who disagree!

      • I don’t disagree that the Jews deserve a homeland, and safety. They absolutely do. But what Israel is doing is just wrong. They keep taking more land, They keep pushing for more wars. They are without a doubt influencing our foreign policy, and domestic policy. Our children and grandchildren deserve better.Best Regards

I know and that is a problem, I agree. They are trying to take back the land they feel that God gave them in the beginning. The strange things is that when the first Hebrews went into the land that God provided for them, lead by Joshua, they disobeyed His directions. God told them to kill all the people living there. But they didn’t do that . I am sure it was because of the horror of wiping out all these people. But I can’t help but think, if they had done what God told them in the first place, maybe all this trouble that we all have to endure might have been avoided! I don’t know the Bible reference off the top of my head, but if you want it, I will try to find it for you.

      • Because I am an Atheist , I can not condone the killing of people, or carrying out ethnic cleansing based on scripture written by men.

Scripture is simply propaganda that was and is still used to influence and manipulate humans into behaving along the ideological lines of the group promoting the propaganda..

In my view, all life is precious and worthy of consideration. There is no scripture, either written or spoken that could convince me that ethnic cleansing is something that we ought to do.

Well I agree that all life is precious. Israel is surrounded on all sides who deny their right to a homeland or value any of their lives. I think they have a right to defend themselves. I appreciate your kind and gentle explanation of your thoughts!
