The Queen of Soul Honors America

Image result for image of aretha singing Star Spangled Banner

The above image will become clear when you hear the  Queen’s rendition  of the Star Spangled Banner last night at the hometown  game hosted by Miss Franklin’s Lions of Detroit.   She is 74 years old and still has her amazing voice.

Long live the Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin !

Granted, she still has her amazing voice and style, but personally, I feel it is an anthem which should be performed as written. It is not just any song that is open for personal interpretation. IMO

Interesting perspective ! I always appreciate your thoughts. I see what you are saying that eliminates selective judgement with an absolute standard. I guess I was using attitude as standard. Thanks friend!

I would agree with GP Cox on her interpretation of the anthem; however, the dear lady may have her own opinion of what America is too.

Just curious, but do you know of a site where one might hear her rendition of “Brown Girl in the Ring” or “By the Waters of Babylon?” Please share that information if you have it; and the readers might be more inclined to “cut her some slack” on the interpretation of the National Anthem.
