Imagine
-
Imagine there’s no heaven
It’s easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today…Imagine there’s no countries
It isn’t hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace…You may say I’m a dreamer
But I’m not the only one
I hope someday you’ll join us
And the world will be as oneImagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world…You may say I’m a dreamer
But I’m not the only one
I hope someday you’ll join us
And the world will live as oneA gift of friendship from a neighbor!
I love that song Anne. The words are so meaningful, especially during these days of greed, hunger, war, and impending death of humanity.

Great song, and heartfelt too…
I shared this song once and got HATED for the line “Imagine there’s no heaven”
Strange how our Hearts and minds change when pushed..

Sorry I meant to add another version of this song…
‘Playing for change’ is people the World over ‘Playing music for change’
On my blog banner I have a quote from Bob Marley:
“Bob Marley almost had a virologist way of thinking, he believed that you can cure-actually cure hate and racism, but injecting it with love and music. Two days before Bob Marley was supposed to perform he was shot. Two days later he walked on stage and performed and they asked him in an interview why didn’t he rest, and he said “The people that are trying to make the world worse never take a day off, why should I. light up the darkness”

Shortly after 9/11, Clear Channel, an entertainment conglomeration owned by a small group of Texas millionaires, sent out a memo to their more than their 1,200 radio stations listing 165 songs that should not be played because of ‘lyrically questionable’ lyrics. John Lennon’s IMAGINE led off the list, it was followed by such songs as Louis Armstrong’s WHAT A WONDERFUL WORLD, Peter Paul and Mary’s, BLOWING IN THE WIND, Simon and Garfunckel’s A BRIDGE OVER TROUBLED WATERS.
