Jennifer Aniston’s commercial about showers on Emirates Air.  Yes there are showers, beds, and work cubicles complete with WiFi  in First Class on the large Emirate jets.  In coach, there are attendants  who speak languages  from around the world. There are several choices of meals, linen and silverware with meals,  free alcohol and TVs. We flew to an from India on Emirates, but in Coach.  The first trip we were asked if we wanted to upgrade to First Class for a mere $900!   We politely said, “No thank you !”

We thought that this would be the airline where the richest people in the world would say, “We want the best flights with amenities on our planes for air travelers  around the world!”   Best we have ever been on !

A “mere” $900, huh? Was that each or together? Gee Anne, why didn’t you take it, and invite a dozen or ten of your best friends along, your treat. After all, the country seems to think teachers are so well paid over here, so rich with such easy jobs.
At least Emirates Air looks like it beats Iceland Air — the one we took to Germany in 1986. I know how sardines feel after that trip, but since they are deceased, at least they don’t know they are packed inside a tin can. I managed to get pickled — on Dramamine. Motion sickness has been a problem most of my life, so a full bottle of Dramamine later I slept my way to Germany, and then slept my way home three weeks later. I don’t travel well. Much better vicariously.
Have a good rest of the weekend.

Oh my goodness, in 1982 our first group to Rome, we. Flew Iceland Air charter and tin can and sardines is perfect description! When I tell the Emirates story , people asked about the 900 price for one or two. We mostly me just said no thanks quickly . Either way too expensive. Didn’t want to give David a chance. He is much more prone to spend than I!
