Search for Human Dignity

Human needs and desires that unite all of us Β in our search for dignity in this life.

“There were no paved roads here when I was a boy. We had to walk for 3 days to get to places that only take 2 hours now. There was never any money for school. We had no wealth or property. Beginning at six years old, I cleaned dishes at a restaurant until 9 pm. Then I would go to sleep and start again. All my money went to my parents. I’d hear stories about cities and airplanes, but they seemed like fairy tales. I’d dream of visiting these places, but before I could get too far, I’d be hungry again. So I grew up thinking that the entire world was like our valley. I thought all children lived like me. Then one day when I turned 16, I had the opportunity to visit to the city of Gilgit. I couldn’t believe it. I saw a boy eating at a restaurant with his father. He was my age. He was wearing a school uniform. I broke down in tears.”

When I speak to my elders here in Scotland, back in the 40’s/50’s etc they say exact same story. Here in Scotland the older generation, about half embraced new technology like the net, the other half just live, tend to a garden (You guys call it your Yards) and do what they did as kids almost, or young adults. I always remember my Dad saying to me “Thank GOD for Elvis” I think he changed a lot of things for his generation. Billy Connolly, comedian said the same…I can share?

    Good read.. x

No, not at all! πŸ˜€ He gigs in New York all the time… lol
Young Billy Connelly – Live in Brooklyn, New York being extremely entertaining.

Old Billy Connolly Live in New York – Billy Connolly Full Show 2015

Billy is the single biggest numbers of Audience performed too as a live performer. More people have gone to see Billy Connolly live on stage than any other comedian on Earth. Because he was Global I say was as he is dying from what Robin Williams had, in-fact, Robin called Billy moments before taking his life, he called Billy to say goodbye, Billy didn’t know this till after of course..

George Carlin should have been global, but he kept it American but was very popular here in Scotland.
Billy Lives in Manhattan, New York πŸ˜€
See! Had you Googled first you would have known this. Very popular in New York, but there isn’t a 1st/2nd World Country city he can walk freely down the street without “Can I have your Autograph please” being asked…
But you have to know the World to know he is the biggest selling Comedian on Earth..Only Countries I think Billy has not performed in is India and Pakistan. He’s been to China, Japan and also Russia MANY times, lived in LA for 30 years. His wife is Pamela Stephenson, you do know her.. x

Is he the funniest? Well I don’t know about that. First video Robin Williams, his dear friend for life is in the front row. Robin was the guy to get Billy HUGE in the USA, East coast more so. Keep in mind the East Coast of the USA has 35% Irish/Scottish, from Maine right town to Florida.
I better stop now before some sad person thinks I am boasting πŸ˜€ I am just answering your question after all..

        x lol
