Please Remember Me. . . . . . . .

holding-hands

When you are old, please remember me.
Today you don’t understand, but you will then.
Someday you’ll say, “Now I see what she meant.”
When you are old, please remember me.
Be patient with me, compassionate even.
I need to go slower, no longer to rush.
When you are old, please remember me.
Today you don’t understand, but you will then.

Happy Mother’s Day to mothers of all ages !

This is lovely. Having just lost my mum, who had dementia for the last year and a half of her life, patience and compassion were so much of what was needed.

    I really love this.
There is a wonderful song by Joan Baez (I am certain you are familiar with it.)
