Hear we began our whirlwind trip to Tennessee, round trip of 1600 miles from Monday until we returned home last night. We went to honor my brother and share the celebration of his life with the family. In spite of the the long trip, and the many annoying trucks, the landscape was beautiful, first starting in New York, down through the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia, and into East Tennessee. Arch’s choice for his burial place was Mountain City. Our journey began after his passing, and was blessed with the beauty and peace of the autumn. The leaves are turning such vivid colors as they wave goodbye, carried by the wind to the ground. Arch’s life was full of color which I will share when I get my thoughts together. Here are some glimpses of our journey. . . . .
May your journey be full of color and peace. . . . . .namaste

What you have done is to continue a life rather than to see its end at a funeral.
This is both beautiful and moving.

So sorry for your loss. Your pictures caught my eye. You were so close to my home, Kingsport, TN. Mountain City is less than an hour from me. Arch made a beautiful choice for his resting place. Prayers for you and your family.

I’ve driven to Tennessee from SC before. Loved how the homes had such big properties (not cramped close to each other, like in CA). Ah, the Autumn season. My favorite road trip during Autumn was through Oregon. Loved that last pic – beautiful!

So glad this brought back happy memories for you . I love autumn , too , and missed the colors during my time in AZ. I have never been to Oregon, but hear it is lovely. Oh, just as I was typing I remember a weekend at my principal’s cabin and the breathtaking walk through the yellow Aspens!
Thank you for the comment!
