Through my eyes and words, I want each of you to experience this exotic, ancient country, India, which is standing on the brink of becoming a world power. And having a blog gives me a reason to write for my family, former students, grand-babies, and friends. Writing is to be read, so having readers, comments, and questions to answer will encourage me along the way.
Update
Our four month adventure in India is over, but there are still tales to tell from that far off magical place which seems now only a dream. I want to share the perfect quote from a new blogger friend who understands the trouble I am having articulating my Indian obsession!
“India leaves her mark on her guests in a most haunting compelling and often surprising way. I suspect that even now you are trying to figure out how to get back there!” (A comment response to me from Ninagrandiose’s Blog)
Bingo, Nina!
I have been fortunate to travel pretty extensively through Western and Eastern Europe to Egypt, Ghana, Tunisia, Belize, and Guatemala. So stories from any of these places could pop up anytime. And of course tales from the United States ! You are most welcome to come along for the ride!

Do you have any ideas for my history blog from Indian history? I realize that my depth of knowledge is 10x largely when it comes to European history and I’d like to get some great tales from around the world. I’m thinking of doing the Golden Temple in the Punjab and the history of partition. Any other ideas? The more obscure and interesting the better.

I heard lately that the Sikhs are 70% Dilat or untouchable. I don’t know if that is true, but would be one reason they hate the caste system. Let me know what you think. The Garden will fit into early history for independence. I have lots of temples, and architecture…in India.

This is one of my favorite posts about a garden in Amritsar. See if you like it. I love the Golden Temple and had two posts, I will send you the link. I am not a scholar or an intellectual.. . . . just a retired elementary teacher. Professor husband says I have a journalists interest in things…who, what , when, where, why and maybe how! I write on things I am interested in and try to do a bit of research to keep them authentic.. Listen, I love just about everything about incredible India!

Oh lucky you! The Eternal City at Christmas. . . .I hope you still have some time because I want to recommend a couple of stops to you.l Villa Borghese and Domus Aurea. . . .Nero’s Golden House. V B is near the Piazza del Popolo and there is a small bus that takes you through the garden to the villa. It is filled with marble and exquisite art….several Bernini statutes. N G House is near the Colosseum. Both places you need reservations, I think. Both are a little off the beaten tourist path and well worth the effort! Your hotel should help you or information is on line.
Let me know what you think. I will look more closely at your blog.
