Last night we discovered this TV show on Netflix. It is filmed in Norwegian with subtitles in English. This Scandinavian film market must be slowly opening up after the success of the Swedish/American film “The Girl with the Dragon Tatoo.”
The acting, architecture, landscape, and politics are very interesting, but it is the plot that was most intriguing. Russia invades and controls Norway, silently creeping into power while the the citizens were completely unaware. The plot is about the usual geopolitical power, oil, EU, and alternative energy , but the horror is that we could see truth and prediction in the story and action as the world seems to be sliding into WWIII. My husband says that there have been conflicts between Norway and Russia through the years over. . . . . you guessed it oil!
Needless to say, Russia is not pleased with the release of this series. . . . .Ukraine, Crimea, just the beginning?
