A Question for You?

From the beginning of my blog, the purpose was as a travel log/journal of sorts of my time in India.  As I enjoyed sharing, ever so much, I continued with this and that on returning home. Then as an additional gift , we were able to return this spring semester for a second wonderful sojourn to  Incredible India!

Well, I want to  compile  some of the posts I most enjoyed into a book for my children.  The purpose is for my grandchildren and great grandchildren who might be interested in whom Miss Anne was.   I guess it is an attempt to leave a piece of me, my thoughts, and joys for my posterity.  I am not publishing my blog, just want three copies for the family.

I have several names of publishers who  do this work, but I wanted to see if any of you have taken your blogs , edited them and compiled them in a book with either a soft cover or a hard cover?   Could you tell me briefly of your experience, name of the company, cost , etc?   I imagine there will have to be an editor to help me which is fine.  This is a project I want to do and have it done well.

Any information will be greatly appreciated. You don’t have to go into great detail, just send a link . Please don’t go to lots of trouble!

Many thanks!

  2. I’ve just been printing off each of my blog posts as I go, and I have them divided into months. I keep thinking I’ll just go to Staples and have them put in some kind of binder. Like you I just want my family to have them to look at and read after I’m gone so they’ll know more about me. Please let me know what you find out, Anne.

If you just want three copies, Anne T., I think I agree with Natalie’s train of thought. But I’d go to your local Post Net store front. They can have one of their workers trained with their computers and copiers take the link you give them for your blog, find the posts you want, and print them on the stock of paper you choose, too. It may cost a little more, but because it’s for posterity … You can pick folders/binders in a Staples or Office Max and make the compilation a family party. Just a suggestion.
