Fifty years ago, was 1964 and I remember these television shows as being full of wonder and excitement. Â Ed Sullivan was on Sunday night and my youth group at church was cancelled because everyone wanted to see this British phenom known as The Beatles! Please sit back and enjoy a few minutes of cultural history that changed the world, or at least the music of the world!
Notice the clothes, hair styles, and the mothers and or grandmothers of today’s screening teens!
Thank you John, Ringo, George, and Paul.
I’m probably the only one that doesn’t like the Beatles! I like them separately but not as a group. But then I was just a kid when they came out and my parents didn’t listen to them. It’s fun nostalgia though!

Actually , you are the second person to day that today. LOL
But definitely in the minority , I’d say. My generation had our favorite Beatlte . Mine was Paul and husband ‘s was John . Today the granddaughter has her favorite guy in zone direction . . . . .

Wha? I’m not the first? I’m shocked actually! I was more of a Doobie Brothers, Eagles, Fleetwood Mac girl. My teens were in the 70’s.

How far we have come!! I am 35 and I remember my first exposure (that I consciously remember) was when I was 11 – in year 4 and I stayed over one of my girlfriends houses. She had a HUGE collection of Beatles music and I loved it!
Awesome to hear about your experiences!
Great post 🙂

Absolutely one of the greatest masters of music… As a kid I remember staring at my parent’s Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely H.C. Band album for hours at a time…and replaying their albums that were so different from all the others.

I remember waiting for them to appear on the balcony of the Southern Cross Hotel in Melbourne. It I was the first big event I remember watching on television. I think they came here in 1963. Those were the days …… When the lyrics “……when I get older, losing my hair many years from now….” seemed such a joke. Such a long way off.
